Two and A Half Month Rally Continues

Volume increased on the Nasdaq and was mixed with the SP 500, 600, Russell, and the Dow. Market continues to act very healthy and there is still no reason to be bearish. But today was the second day I could not find more than 10 great charts for new longs. All of my good longs continue to act well but new longs the past two days, during this rally, have not been plentiful.

Read yesterday's market commentary for more depth on the above subject.

New Longs: IPII ELOS UNF ERS VAS MOT NSTK MIDD BBSI MBWM

New Long After Pullback: MCRL

Longs Still Looking Good: DSTI DCAI BOOM ANGO ENG JMDT HITK MSCC AMED RATE JMDT DCEL UPCS APCS CPTV GNSS RBAK PETS LMS MCF

New Shorts: CRYP WPTE PCLN

Aloha

Joshua,

I am having some trouble with TC2005. I entered your criteria, choosing to do the scan with average of 100k shares for the past 50 days (AVGV50 >= 1000).

When I scanned today (7/11/05 at 11 p.m. ET), I got 3485 items. This seems like a really big number, so I was wondering if you got this number, and if not, what could I be doing wrong?

I have another question. I made a second list and did "All Stocks" instead of "All Items in System" and narrowed it down to 3200, lol.

So, my question is, how do you manage to pinpoint 10 stocks from a list of 3200? It seems like it would take way too much time to do that.

You need to add all criteria in my note into one scan. You can not just use the 100k avg past 50 days.

Re-read it and try again. Many users have entered it and it is working on their systems.

WPTE is shortable.

Which broker do you use. I use multiple brokers so I can usually find shares to short somewhere.

Well I just missed out on like 7 dollars a share gain on 200 shares I was trying to do with wpte. I use scottrade, I should open a few more accounts somewhere else to find shares.

Josh you think there will be a rush to buy to cover for those who shorted this.Looks like everyone is going to be covering around 19-20.

that was my post above ^^

I did add all the criteria, I'm just wondering if your screen came up with over 3,000 stocks like mine. This is what I entered into my PCF:

100 * (C - C1) / C1 >= 0.01 C > AVGC50 AVGC50 > AVGC200 V >= 1.5 * AVGV50 AVGV50 >= 1000

Then, when I created my EasyScan, I did:

Watchlist: All Items In System
Maui Trader: True (What I called the PCF)

I have 3,525 stocks as of 11:50 a.m. ET on 7/12/05. If I'm doing this correctly and you get the same #'s, how are you able to narrow it down to 10 or so stocks in such little time?

I have no clue what you are doing wrong. The scan should only have had 188 or so. I dont have time to help you one on one. I know many users who have entered the scan exactly as I have stated and they get the same numbers.

You are leaving something out very important. I dont have time to check what it is. Make sure you are only dealing with stocks that are up for the day.

You should always end up with 50 to 300. Re-read it. Other people have gotten it to work.

Forget about WPTE and move on. The big money is being made on the long side right now, not the short side.

You are concentrating too much on a stock that is not going to produce big gains. TALX, ENG, STEM, ABP, BDCO, and ERS could be making you a lot more mad money.

Blurrz,

You forgot to use 'AND' operator. Here are the correct ones:

Large volume ones:

(C > AVGC50) AND (AVGC50 > AVGC200) AND ((((C - C1)/> C) * 100) > 0.01) AND (V >= 1.5 * AVGV50) AND (AVGV50
>= 1000)

Small Volume ones:

(C > AVGC50) AND (AVGC50 > AVGC200) AND ((((C - C1) > /> C) * 100) > 0.01) AND (V >= 1.5 * AVGV50) AND
(AVGV50 >= 500 AND AVGV50 <= 1000)

Okay, I think I've fixed it. Bala, your criteria came back with a syntax error, so I just put AND after every criteria and I got 12 results for the large volume scan and 0 results for the small volume scan. This was done at 1:40 p.m. ET 7/12/05.

Large Volume:

100 * (C - C1) / C1 >= 0.01 AND C > AVGC50 AND AVGC50 > AVGC200 AND V >= 1.5 * AVGV50 AND AVGV50 >= 1000

Small Volume:

100 * (C - C1) / C1 >= 0.01 AND C > AVGC50 AND AVGC50 > AVGC200 AND V >= 1.5 * AVGV50 AND AVGV50 >= 1000 AND AVGV50 >= 500 AND AVGV50

Thanks Bala!!!

I appreciate that.

I am not sure what you are still doing wrong but my count as of 4:55 EST has:

100k Avg.= 114
50k Avg. = 27

Alright, I think I actually fixed it this time. I have 116 Large volume and 27 Small Volume. Thanks for everyone's help/patience.
